Non lo dico

I would like to draw a parallel between the visual arts and music, and in particular something that manages to "touch" Ligeti, whom I like very much, but I haven't come up with many ideas.

You will say... you're changing the subject. True, but before giving up, I hope someone has some suggestions.

Thanks in advance

The best attack you can make is always and anyway the one with cinema, in the sense that the worst problem you have to overcome is the fact that it is almost impossible for your teachers to know Ligeti. They might know Kubrick, however, and it could be a nice thing to do a sort of montage between the different moments in which Kubrick uses Ligeti's music. In this way, you could try to reflect on how contemporary music adapts well to commenting on even very different scenes.

Another very nice thing would be to take Ligeti as an "example" to talk about what happened to the intellectuals of the former communist bloc: he was born in Romania, his parents were deported to Auschwitz; he continued his studies in Hungary, from which he fled due to the Soviet repression of student revolts; he went to Austria and then to Germany, where he finally began working at the electronic music studio in Cologne. The various parts of his life correspond to different styles, also due to the "different" repressions suffered. And this could allow you to talk about an artistic repression that is still little discussed in school, that of the Soviet regimes (and the Hungarian one especially, which makes the Italian PCI blush...).

To understand which other subjects to cover, we should know what kind of school you attend, at least...
