I would like to ask you if you know, with the latest versions of Finale, a method to copy a certain number of measures (copied from a single staff), open a new document, and paste them while maintaining the layout, the number of bars per staff, and the distance between the staves of the original copied selection. I cannot find any information... on the other hand, I think that in a similar program, a text editor like Word, the Copy - "Keep original formatting" function is very easily obtainable with the right-click menu.
I agree that comparisons are only valid up to a certain point, but I cannot believe that in Finale there isn't a similar function... Can you help me?
...you should try to think in terms of templates. As far as I know, there isn't a function like the one in Microsoft Word. Consider that even many text editors do not guarantee that future...let alone final [result], which additionally must also handle playback. If you find something similar to Word in the end...let me know?
Thanks for the answer! ...even if this thing depresses me a bit: I am creating the second volume of a book of scales and arpeggios for violin and obviously to set up the subsequent keys I copy, paste and then transpose what I have already written... maintaining the formatting of the keys already "fine-tuned", once copied, would have saved me quite a lot of work.
I understand the point about templates, but I also find it to be a rather cumbersome system... oh well... I will continue the search with little hope!!
