Good morning, I installed Finale 2014 because I had the 2011 version and it no longer ran on the new Apple Yosemite operating system which I had updated due to excessive zeal. First problem: I cannot use the Garritan sound library; if I go to Window/ScoreManager I can assign the Garritan sounds to the parts, but if I start playback nothing sounds. I then go to Midi/Audio/Audio Units Banks & effects to assign the Garritan sounds there as well, but in the menu that opens, the other libraries are actually present but not Garritan.
What do you think it could be? For some reason, did the library import not complete successfully? What can I try?
Try downloading the latest available Play engine update from the Make Music website.

Simone, I thank you for your suggestion but you must forgive my ineptitude: what is the "play engine"? A plug-in that the program needs to incorporate and manage Garritan? Could you perhaps give me the link while simultaneously telling me what I should do with it after downloading it? I am definitely not an expert on the IT aspects of Finale; I am a mere user and, unfortunately, still not of all its powerful functions.
