Is there anyone who is madly in love with Chopin? Why not form a Chopin group? Just as they did for Beethoven, it would be wonderful to do so for this most excellent composer... and as for the piano.... he is its absolute master!!! I am not a composer and I understand little about harmony and counterpoint. My studies in this subject stopped at complementary harmony at the conservatory and after the exam, amen and goodbye.. Perhaps a composer who has studied counterpoint would be able to shed more light regarding this musician. I have always listened to Chopin's pieces and I have always liked them, but the revelation towards this composer came when I began studying and playing him. No other composer has made me feel such strong emotions, and his art is so sublime and so high that it happened to me a bit like what sometimes happens when admiring a beautiful painting: to enter into it and become part of it. Aside from the piano and its pianistic technique....(it is now well known that he was a virtuoso and that he brought the piano to remarkable levels of difficulty)....but his melodies, the harmony... his way of composing and making music... his art... I find it to be of an extraordinary and genius height... no musician has ever amazed me so much. It is not at all predictable, but in his sweetness, he is grand and always surprises you.. his melody almost never goes where I would make it go (in a predictable way) but exactly the opposite, and certainly in the best place and in the most perfect manner. Nothing about him is banal, repetitive, or boring. His music is rich in content and messages... his phrasing is so clear that it manages to describe with disarming clarity the story of the protagonist of that piece, their feelings of joy and pain, of playfulness and seriousness, all executed with extreme delicacy, sometimes even leading the listener to true dramas but always without musical excesses, almost as if not wanting to disturb the main melancholic theme, which, after being interrupted by a dramatic period, resumes flowing like a brook resuming its course until the end. Chopin is great... he is not just a great piano composer... but he is a great composer. I am certain that if he had not died so young and had not been so humble, he would have also composed operas and symphonies. This message of mine is to stimulate Chopin lovers to found a group for him....

True, but from what I understand that section of the forum is linked directly from beethoven.com, so it's as if it were a piece of the forum at the service of the official site dedicated to B. himself.
This doesn't mean that a group for Chopin cannot be created, but I think it will then turn out to be of a different nature.
By the way, is there an official website for Chopin?
It's not as if one needs a website linked to open a section on Beethoven, otherwise what are we doing here? Armando was a special case; he had his own forum which he later closed for various reasons, and some old users from his forum were redirected here to ours. While a website specifically dedicated to an author is welcome, it doesn't seem strictly necessary for the purpose of opening a section.
I am willing to open it on the condition that there is someone willing to moderate it. Who volunteers?
GILDA beat me to it, I had been thinking for a while about opening another couple of groups that I would have spoken to you about (Simone) privately... from my point of view, it's something worth considering.
How happy I am to have found available people....and who love Chopin like me....I think that for all pianists Chopin is unique and special, right? There are many sites dedicated to him...I even found a spectacular one directly from Poland, where you can find everything: from the biography, the letters, and various links for the Warsaw Piano Competition.....watch it, I highly recommend it......I leave you the link http://en.chopin.nifc.pl/institute/. I do not believe I am the right person to bring this group to life. I think a moderator must have truly remarkable knowledge of the subject they wish to address, in order to be able to answer any questions and clarifications, even technical ones. I am simply a lover of this composer, but I hope that a moderator can be found anyway.... and very soon, because I think that Chopin, besides being my favorite musician, is loved so much by all pianists and that he belongs here on this site dedicated to the piano. I studied the violin and am not a certified pianist.... this passion for the piano was born later, which is why I believe it would be better if a pianist acted as moderator. For this reason, I hope Simone can find one.....pianists, step forward!!!

GILDA, I think that in the end Chopin responded in his first post ... in my opinion, he was referring specifically to having super qualified people on the subject at one's disposal. I mean in a vertical sense... I can know Chopin from a compositional point of view, but then I am lacking from a bibliographic point of view, etc.
In short... it also depends on the ambitions of the group you are proposing ... if the model is the one realized here for Beehoven... well... I am not adequate

Hi Gilda, I asked for there to be a moderator, not a mediator. A moderator is the figure who ensures that netiquette (the rules governing the community) is respected in their section (the one they moderate). What do we do with a mediator? If we appoint a mediator who answers the questions being asked, then this is no longer a forum, it becomes a blog! The important thing is to open a group that is more closely followed by those who moderate it. In case of problems, the moderator informs me privately and if I deem it necessary, I take action. I think we could open a section on an author and then everyone, based on the topics that gradually arise, responds according to their own knowledge and experience. A Chopin guru might show up!! But for the purposes of discussions on an author, it doesn't seem necessary at all. In any case, I am willing to open an F. Chopin section, provided that there is, I repeat, someone who offers themselves as a moderator for the section. I assure you it is not such an arduous task... It consists of reading and reporting in case of abuses.

Ok, the group has been opened and you are the group moderator. Don't be intimidated because everything is very, very simple. A moderator, as the term suggests, must moderate those who do not respect the forum rules or, in a much more serious case, the legal code. Example: if two members argue and write very harsh words, you can start making the conversation invisible; inform me with a message and then I will take action. Or: a user arrives in the Chopin group and writes that they are selling shoes -> You report it to me and then I will take action, or if advertising for other sites is done -> censorship. In short, whatever happens you must inform me and, if serious, hide the post or the entire topic. Particular attention must be paid to those who publish copyrighted material (which must be removed immediately), but with Chopin you are quite safe. The copyrights expired a long time ago. As you can see, it doesn't seem to me that there is anything particularly difficult. Practically, for anything, you must always inform me; if you have doubts, you have private messages, or my email and my cell phone number in the signature. Stay calm and let's enjoy the new emerging group.
