who among you knows GIANNI LEONE or rather LEONERO, the historic keyboardist of IL BALLETTO DI BRONZO?
what do you think of him both as a musician and as a composer?
the album he composed in balletto di bronzo ''YS'' is very beautiful......

A few years ago, I saw one of his concerts on TV at Stazione Birra, a Roman venue. His music seemed to me like progressive with heavy metal inflections, rather complex but also a bit "forced," meaning artificial. Perhaps the television coverage didn't do it justice either... Very interesting, anyway. Unfortunately, I haven't listened to the album you're talking about yet, but I will look for something on YouTube as soon as possible. Then I'll be back...

Wow, truly remarkable, considering it's a 1972 album!!! They have nothing to envy Emerson Lake and Palmer, in fact...! I regret not having listened to them sooner; the fact is that, in those years, there were many groups of this genre in Italy, even if not all at this level. I am also curious to read their history on Wiki: I see they made several albums and it seems strange to me that they weren't as well-known as other prog formations. Perhaps because they didn't "break through" with a more catchy single to make themselves known to a wider audience... Thanks for the discovery!
