For a few years now, Radio Tre has been broadcasting a program titled "Music Lessons". This is the one relating to Symphony No. 1, Opus 21.
This topic can be used, if desired, to discuss our relationship with this Symphony.

I listened to it, but it cuts off at 9'33", while he is talking about "Jupiter" which according to many serves as a model... (and then?)
Anyway, from what I was able to listen to, I would say I like it as an analysis. I also agree on the fact that the first symphony is full of novelties (more than the second) compared to previous models which Beethoven certainly took into consideration. Of course, still nothing compared to the "turning point" represented by the Eroica: I believe that is the symphony that opens a new way of conceiving the genre of the symphony.

Hi Gino, sorry (for me) but there was a technical error that I didn't notice. I hope to be able to fix it now.
