Dear PIANOEXPERT, why do some "renowned" manufacturers not adopt the trestles without a return spring to the forcola, while others instead adopt a traditional trestle, without the clip?

Steinway has suppressed this clip in the past. It seems that gravity should not be helped. Schimmel, I believe, still adopts it.

The clip slightly reduces the weight of the jack. One evidently has to deal with the overall geometry of the action.
