I am writing a piece (the same one with the harp glissandi) in which, for convenience, I have written the brass instruments each on their own staff (4 horns, 4 trumpets, 3 trombones, 1 bass trombone); I am asking you if, in your opinion, I can leave them like this or if it would be better to group them in pairs on the same staff, for example horn I and III, horn II and IV. The score is to be submitted to a competition.
In case I have to group them, is there a function in Finale that allows me to do this automatically?

Group them on the same staff.
To do this, you can help yourself by combining move/copy and show active level notes.
Referring to horn I and III, you can transform level III into second, then select active level "second" and cut and paste Horn III into Horn I.
One of the goals of the score is to be clear and intelligible; if the 12 staves serve this purpose, they can also be kept separate... but it requires a great complexity of writing to justify it.
It should also be said that the instrumentalists will have separate parts, so the main user of the full score will be the conductor.
That being said, in case the choice is to aggregate... one way is the one indicated by Bit.
Try to see if you also like the result given by the 'implode music' function, which is more suitable for reductions.
Ok thanks, I tried both methods and they both work. I believe that in this piece trying to make reading easier for the conductor might be important; I would save at least 5-6 staves considering there are 2 clarinets, 4 horns, 4 trumpets, 3 tenor trombones and one bass trombone. Maybe I'll create another file optimized for this purpose.
