Any pedagogue or child psychologist would say that similar terms should not be used with children, not even in general. They undermine self-confidence; they are examples of a relationship between adult and child in which the adult is at the center of attention, whereas teaching should flip the system. Coincidentally, then, it is a man using them, a teacher who ends up being the typical verbally aggressive father figure, complaining about having been misunderstood... can I say that no woman would ever have used these phrases? Ok, one tries to move beyond "maternal" schooling, where teaching happens as a mother would teach, but the fact remains that if a professional wants to be treated as such, then they must behave as such.

I agree with you on your reasoning but ... unfortunately, you cannot say that thing.

One of my daughter's teachers, when she was in third or fourth grade, made herself heard by the class while she was talking on the phone to her headteacher:

". . . you know that I have a class of morons"

and the person in question is not at the beginning of her career but towards the end.

I hope never to encounter her again on my path. Certain people should not work with children, nor even with other people or animals, and perhaps not even with plants (to whom they say that speaking kindly does good). Certain people should make wicker baskets.
