Hello, I am replacing the felt and the hammer cloth on the hammers of my upright piano
Regarding the direction of the felt, it should be smooth when the jack pushes upwards and obviously rough when the jack descends
Does the same apply to the hammer cloth? Or should it be the opposite?

When the hammer "falls" back, should the parameter slide on the smooth or rough side of the felt?
