Life is easy. Try to harmonize, post your solution (whatever you can) and then we'll see about putting some suggestions together
It's not that if I do it, you will learn something. The secret is trying, clashing with difficulties, seeing where you get to, and being guided to improve.

I would say that the Abbot is right

I totally agree!!! From a student!

The beautiful thing is that he only signed up here to find some fool to play the bass for him; it's no coincidence that he only has one message in the counter (this one). When he realized that nobody would do it for him, he completely disappeared... New generation of "musicians".

Years ago, a similar situation occurred (on another forum) to this one, but in that case the request was more complex and came from a student who (so she said) had to submit an assignment for a harmony exam.
As soon as she received answers that were not in line with her request, she responded angrily, saying that if she had asked some friends, they would certainly have helped her.
I pointed out to her that, on the contrary, if someone is your friend, they won't help you do something for which you won't be able to be independent in the near future, especially if you will have to and want to teach.
Even though I haven't been doing them for years, personally I liked doing exercises on bass lines and given melodies, but asking someone to do them instead of me—never; what satisfaction could there ever be in that?!

More than anything, what the f*** did you sign up for at the conservatory if you want other people to do your exercises for you? I don't know...
It reminds me of something that happened to me recently... A relative (who never asks me for sh**) sends me a WhatsApp message... "Simone, do you know how to do this assignment?"
It was the Mathematical Analysis test (he enrolled in the first year of civil engineering). "Of course," I reply. He replies... "Could you send me a photo of the procedure?"
My epic response: "Sure, this afternoon, when you have finished the exam, so you can check if you did it correctly, not now... Because I don't want to feel guilty if one day buildings with people inside collapse."

@piccinesco: I also enjoy doing low chants and even chorales ahahah and besides, the one requested wasn't even particularly difficult, modulations without alterations in the bass, no flourishes or anything else.

You did the right thing Simone, especially because it is a relative.
Antares86, I have forgotten many notions over these years, but I have a "strange" intention in mind, quite the opposite of what one would normally do:
trying to make a few euros with much simpler music that I'm not even interested in (as a genre) so that I can start studying again (being followed, because if I am alone it is better that I don't start).

Explain yourself better, you little brat, what do you want to do?

Perhaps making music that he doesn't like to make, but is nonetheless popular so that he can sell it to a potential audience and earn something to finance his studies and be able to improve in the music that he actually likes to make... I know Maurizio's reasoning is a bit convoluted.

Hi everyone guys. I agree. I learned a lot in the forum by putting myself to the test. Thanks to the observations of Frank and others, but they never gave me the task

If it's not too complicated, I'm in ahahah
Whatever the audience likes,,, I hope they don't want to go for minimalism ahah

We really hope not... eheheh

I have the Gennaro Napoli ... I don't think it's the same thing

I have that too, Raffaele, and various books: the 'bigino di armonia' [harmony primer] and the two volumes of 'bassi canti', and so on; they are difficult, in fact, for now he still uses Jacopo for the bass lines...

In short, scan this no. 12 and post it. It could be a starting point. What do you say?

Anyway, they were father and son, Gennaro and Jacopo

Simone summarized well what I wrote; basically, I started working on a genre for which you could earn quite a lot, but only if (1°) you compromise and do what people want (according to some insiders who, in my view, actually think they are playing it safe, but in the end publish copies of copies of copies...) (even though they haven't been asked what they want, but rather a certain type of material is imposed upon them), (2°) but not in order of importance, if they start advertising you, because without that, you remain relegated to your neighborhood.
But without rambling (now), since I am also straying from the topic of the discussion, I believe that (even if comparisons cannot be made between two very different genres, especially regarding approach) there is no comparison between writing a piece for a solo instrument and writing another one, perhaps more "impactful," in an hour, because perhaps the first will "last" longer, while the second will have a short life, unless in that specific context we have produced a little masterpiece.
I also like electronic music, but not everything that the term itself encompasses, but it is also difficult for even a well-made piece to stand alongside an equally well-made piece of an instrumental nature, or rather, acoustic.
