Hello everyone, I am new to the forum, I attend music high school and have been playing the piano for 10 years.
I am very interested in composition and orchestration and I am reading the manual "Principles of Orchestration" by Rimsky-Korsakov.
I wanted to ask if anyone could recommend some piano pieces to orchestrate. I am a complete beginner as an orchestrator, but I would like to start orchestrating something.
Something easy, mind you, so that if necessary I could send it and if someone wants they can correct me and give me advice.
For now I haven't done any orchestration yet, but I don't think I'm saying anything scandalous if I recommend Leibowitz; continue practicing with orchestral pieces from Mozart onwards in piano reductions to be re-orchestrated

Welcome. I love Leobovitz's book. I believe that the intention tends to develop in the orchestrator the ability to instrument at a high level. Not necessarily, perhaps, will the student reach, through research and choices, the same solution as the composer, but they will not fail to be amazed by these brilliant solutions, which have made the composers themselves Great.
