Cava de' Tirreni

Hello to all forum users!

I am really happy to get in touch with so many professionals and enthusiasts of music and the piano.

I am 25 years old and my passion for music was born quite late, which did not allow me to attend a regular course

of study at the Conservatory, and for about 3 years I learned the fundamentals of music as a self-taught musician. However, I have been taking private lessons for 4 years, balancing piano study with my university studies. (I graduated in Computer Science). I think I have reached a decent level, considering that I play Bach, Chopin, and Sonatas by Mozart and Beethoven satisfactorily. In addition to the piano, I am an organist at my parish in Cava de' Tirreni (Salerno), I conduct a small choir, and I have a great passion for sacred music and Gregorian chant.

I hope to discuss our great passion, which is music, with you soon.

See you soon. A hug to everyone.

Hi, welcome among us !! Great, music has no age. And besides, at 25 you certainly can't say you are old !!

Enjoy your stay on the forum, I hope you find our discussions interesting and that you will open your own.

Regards...

Cava dei Tirreni! Such memories!

I am from Vietri, even though I have lived in Rome for over 35 years, and Cava dei Tirreni brings back a beautiful period to my mind, when I was a twenty-year-old young man and would go up together with my twin (on the trolleybus, the 3 or the 4) to come and rehearse (I played guitar and bass) with Umberto Apicella's band, who played the sax.

And I remember the beautiful porticos of Cava, which I hope have remained as lively as when I used to frequent them.

Which is the church where you play? The Duomo, the Sanctuary of San Francesco and Sant'Antonio, La Badia, or San Pietro a Siepi?

Welcome, and remember that you have many years of music ahead of you, far from having started late!

Welcome!

Well, if I'm not mistaken you are the second organist of the "family"... Good grief, 25 years is late!? ๐Ÿ™‚ I started piano at five or six, I don't remember, but lately I've realized that I've wasted a lot of time, and that I have actually only barely learned the basics. And now I find myself in a strange situation: as far as reading goes I am quite advanced, but I have never done piano technique.

In any case, enjoy your stay. If you need anything, you can find us here.

See you soon...

Thank you all for the warm welcome.... and for the many encouragements. To answer Gennarino: I play at the parish of S.Giuseppe al Pozzo but I was at the Duomo for a long time. The porticos are always beautiful, especially during this Christmas period, the atmosphere is magical. See you soon!!
