Hi. This is a bit of a strange introductory post. I registered on this forum more than three years ago, yet this is my first message. I moved to this platform following the composition section group, a mini-community that had wandered a bit around the web.
My name is Fabio and I am a computer engineer, now totally dedicated to computer graphics. I have always loved music, but I had never practiced it very closely: then, about 5-6 years ago, I tried to dive into it with something that would stimulate my interest. It was a bit late for an instrument, so I started reading about harmony and music theory.
I found myself facing an infinite world that, as all of you teach me, requires specialized studies and dedication for many years of training. I didn't become a musician, but after so much time without touching a score, I often find myself thinking that it is the most wonderful thing I have ever studied.
The simple Piston bass lines to harmonize according to my first small bag of knowledge already contained all the love one has for this... I don't know how to define music. I would spend entire days on it, and in this I was helped by many users who still form the composer community here on Piano Concerto.
Geppino, Frank, AbateFaria, Thallo, Piccinesco, Maestro Carlos, rstrauss, Ludovica... I'm forgetting a lot, sorry, it has really been a long time. I have never seen people work so hard to help me.
Tons of times I wish I could find the time to pick it up again and I feel a bit bad about all the things I have forgotten. In a few weeks I will have to provide sound for a computer graphics project. About fifteen seconds in a cartoon style... who knows, maybe instead of searching on the internet, I'll do it myself.
Sorry for the long re-introduction, I hope that some of those mentioned come to read the introductions section every now and then... and I can't wait to meet the other users of this forum. Bye.
