Hi everyone, let me introduce myself, my name is Giulio and I'm a 21-year-old wreck ahahaha, I have an unbridled passion for music. For a year now, I've been working on my piano and those of my clients; I've learned how to tune it and perform small repairs. I have to thank PCs, electronics, and the web as a little help initially, since unfortunately nobody explained to me how everything worked and I had to research on forums and I followed various tunings to understand how to behave so as not to destroy it, even though fundamentally I'm not animalistic, so I wouldn't have caused much damage anyway. The fact is that finally, after months and about 4 times a week for 8 hours of study per day tuning my piano and those of others, now that I take matters into my own hands, all 88 keys in every piano I tune, as a final result, SOUND!!! It's useless that they keep telling me 'but don't you do all the keys by ear?' (find me a tuner near me who knows how to do them all by ear from the first to the last octave and I'll have him tune mine and then I'll marry him even if he's not from my side of the border xD ahah); the end justifies the means and if the job is done well, I am satisfied; if others are satisfied, that's their business. As for work, you called a tuner because the piano is out of tune and they sent me because I know how to do it? Fine, have it tuned, it's my business what I do. The final question I ask everyone is "how does it sound"? Answer: "WELL IT SOUNDS" xD so pay me and shut up and advertise me; if you didn't like it, I don't even want the money (it has never happened, fortunately), in fact, some have even offered me dinner xD ahahah.
This tuning thing is unfortunately a double-edged sword now; I have also started studying the piano because I want to enter the conservatory. There is no work, I am unemployed and I have nothing to do during the day except for some tuning, and besides, I don't like anything else—classical music and the piano are an obsession. Then I say, if there is passion and love for the instrument, why not try? People who tell me that I am old must be mentally old; meanwhile, at 21 years old, I have learned to tune pianos and I've stolen work from (they say) "50-year-old professionals" here in Reggio Calabria who are good for nothing. I called three of them to my house; I purposely detuned the piano on all octaves and I won't tell you what a mess they made. Obviously, I didn't pay them; I made a video from a few hours before when it was tuned and me while I was detuning it to show them that they are incompetents, and they left with their heads down without even getting angry, rightfully so—what were they supposed to say? -.- no comment (and it all started from the incompetence of the first tuner when I bought the piano; I felt it was flat and out of tune, it didn't sound as it should and I was sure it wasn't tuned. I called a tuner I know who has perfect pitch and more professional electronic equipment and indeed I was right; my friend Giulio is starting to play with these strings that maybe one day I'll steal your job!!).
Anyway, without being long-winded, it's a double-edged sword because as soon as I feel it's a bit flat or simply out of tune, I have to immediately take it apart and tune it; I can't play on it. Or where I go to study, I had to tune it for them; I couldn't stand hearing those three strings each tuned on its own!!! It's a curse when I see videos or hear pianos and I hear them out of tune, I think... I should tune it for them even for free but I want to hear it sound, it sucks!!!! xD
I hope this site will be useful to me to make serious friendships with people who are finally professional and qualified in such a way as to learn and improve more and more!!! And maybe to become useful myself, a mutual exchange; music belongs to everyone, and I hope to learn both technically at the level of playing and at the instrumental level.
