tomorrow if I can I will also do a test, and eventually you can try the other way around: with a sequencer you find the sounds that interest you and then export the midi (setting the controllers so that it exports the sound as well and not just the note) and import it into sibelius. That way maybe you can see how it reads it (maybe....)

i didn't get much, but anyway:

- using the "sibelius sounds essential" as a "player device", I achieved nothing, total darkness ....

- using GM (general midi) as a "player device", I notice:

of the instruments you mention, only agogo, cuica, and congas are available in the GM sounds

using the trick I was talking about, I got the congas and the cuica; for the agogo, nothing to be done, the bells play instead

i am attaching 2 files, if you want to try drag the midi onto sibelius and it will create a track with the percussion mapped.

it's a mess anyway because if you import the file it plays, but if you want to create it as a new instrument, no ....

my advice is to get percussion VSTIs external to sibelius and, at that point, you can manage them however you like (by correctly setting the playback devices)

ops the .mid cannot be attached, whoever wants it contact me (not that it's very useful though ...)

Thanks Ale. It seems to me that the agogo sounds can be obtained by setting the note head to triangular, and anyway you have to use trial and error; it's curious that there isn't a tutorial.
