Dear guys,

sorry for the disturbance and surely for my "damned" ignorance, but I really need help.

I don't have the money to buy anything analog, so the only thing I can do (when I manage to) is try to exploit keyboards or MIDI with plugins that allow me to express what I want to do. Unfortunately, it is not easy at all; I am not asking for much, it would be enough for me to know how to use a virtual drum machine and a few synths to be complete; for now, I don't care about refining techniques to improve the sound, I just want to have a little fun.

My biggest problems are the following:

1-I cannot record the automated tracks present in plugins such as (Arturia Spark/Drumazon etc.)

2-I cannot exploit the filters contained within the plugins, like those listed before. In fact, IF I WERE ABLE to record with those plugins, or anyway I do it with others where fortunately I can record (various Arturia synths), the recording will include all the notes that I pressed on the keyboard, but as far as the sound is concerned, the variation of the filter that I performed during the recording is nothing. In fact, the track has the same sound as the last modification made to the plugin's filter. It doesn't create what I want, which is a nuance of the sound throughout the recording.

I hope in some way I have been clear; I beg anyone reading this post who knows the solution to help me in the best possible ways.

Reply to point 1... It is clearly impossible to record a MIDI sequence from a plugin that is inserted as an insert in which MIDI data is declared within it. What comes out of that plugin is audio, not MIDI, and the MIDI you are using is not part of the input data from Logic's MIDI channels, but rather MIDI data nested inside a plugin where its routing ends.

I don't have that type of plugin, but I imagine that everything can always be automated by carrying along Logic's SMPTE Clock. In this case, to record the audio output from the plugin, you can use a BUS.

On the channel strip where you insert the drum machine, create a bus (which you can name whatever you want). Then, create a new audio track (Not a software instrument, since we have established that the plugin does not send MIDI data out, but audio). On the channel strip of this new audio track you created, set the BUS you just created as the input. When you record, it will record what arrives from the send of the master channel strip. This is called a Bridge configuration precisely because the BUS acts as a bridge between the channel strip hosting the plugin and the listening channel strip that needs to record.

PS. Don't forget to turn up the volume on the send, otherwise nothing will pass through the bus.

Honestly, I didn't quite understand the question, but it seems to me that you intend to use a filter internal to the drum machine to process the sound produced by the plugin subjected to external MIDI data input. If instead you are asking why automations are not being recorded, it's the usual story. Using the method described above, what you record on the second audio channel strip is what you hear, which is the sound produced on channel strip 1 that arrives at the second via the bus. Therefore, if you hear changes determined by automations, there is no way the sound recorded on the second channel strip won't include the processing of the plugins subjected to those automations.

I believe I have answered you; if you still have any doubts, perhaps make a new video and comment. I believe I have answered the first one properly. The same goes for the second question, if I understood the question correctly...
