Not even.

The trivialization of a masterpiece (which I consider the first 8 bars of Beethoven to be) reduced to a pretext for a tour of harmony bothers me quite a bit.

The piece works even without involving Ludwig.

Ah, it is a consideration that goes beyond sectarian or snobbish stances.

«the piece works even without bothering Ludwig»… it's true Zedef!

i enjoyed it. I thought of a Promenade from a theme by Beethoven.
Then whether Beethoven would be happy or not about it… it doesn't matter much. Although I very much understand the curiosity to know. In my fantasies, for example, Bach would be very happy with Busoni.

Of course a composer cannot – like a parent to a child – say to one of their pieces «be careful who you hang out with»…
But if they could, would it be good to tell them?... not for me.
