Good evening, I have proposed the piece I am talking about to two friends (a pianist and a mezzo-soprano); in the meantime, I would like to propose it to other people as well,

who might or might not like it, but I want to propose it anyway.

It is a short piece for piano and mezzo-soprano; to be clear, I will describe its range without using C4/C3 etc.: it goes from the C# just above the middle C of the piano to the B natural two octaves higher. For the person in question, I have "lowered" the whole piece from G major to E major, but I don't think a soprano would have problems

performing the part without transposition: there are octave jumps, but they come from eighth notes at most a tone apart, and the execution speed (even if I haven't

specified it) is quite moderate; it is also a short piece.

Anyone who is "interested" can contact me and ask for the score (I will send it separately), same for the pianist who wants to see the piano part.

Simone knows me (from this point of view); anyone who has "interest" (I always put this term in quotes because interest is a big word, especially

if one doesn't know what they are talking about, quite rightly; perhaps after seeing the score and trying it out, they might feel like killing me or banning me from the forum, or worse, having

a laugh, one must take everything into account) must know that they can ask me for compensation (which I am stating upfront, I cannot guarantee, at least not now, because my crisis

has lasted at least 15 years, and I'm not joking, but we can reach an agreement if the figures are not absurd; I have to set money aside and I don't have a salary, so

I had to wait for a "propitious" moment, which is more likely than Mont Blanc being hit by a tsunami, to have available something that isn't a sum that is unsustainable

for those who, precisely, do not have a job, but work only occasionally and earn very little).

In the past, except for Simone who offered (when he has time), and 2 other people who could not do anything due to work reasons, it happened that

diverse people came forward, offering maximum availability only to then disappear (without even seeing the scores, moreover); for this reason, I would like to specify that

I am a precise person even about these things, so if I can, I will gladly pay, because no one should do something for free if it is not their spontaneous will (obviously), but

I would like to avoid demonstrations of "solidarity" and professionalism only to then vanish into thin air, without even saying

"I can", "I cannot", "I'll only do it if you pay me", etc., because

this has happened, and I assure you (despite knowing well that I am not Bach, so the awareness of one's own limits is very much present) that it is not pleasant to hear excuses only to then find out that in the meantime the same person has collaborated with Christ and the Madonna, but got lost in a glass of water, simply

for not having said "yes" or "no"; well, this thing makes the term professionalism fall apart.

In effect, the situation you are describing is an annoying one, it happens sometimes

Isn't it a bit too sharp to reach that si?

The person I had spoken to about this, after asking for their range, told me that it could easily reach

Bb, so I extended it by a chromatic semitone above, but then when they saw their part, they told me it was too high, and I

lowered it

( along with everything else ). I didn't think that a semitone could be the source of a problem of this kind; I mean that if Bb was the limit,

still easily reachable ( and in one response they told me they reached from G below to middle C up to C 2 octaves above middle C,

I stuck to the absolute maximum at the last B, otherwise I wouldn't have done it ).

Anyway, let's see if something comes of it; above all, I might be able to confirm something (which I already have a feeling about) that isn't working in the piece,

so as to improve it.

I'll add that you almost broke up with me because I kept insisting on asking if you were "sure" about not wanting to be paid that time; I know, I know, I'm a pain in the neck about these things,

because there is embarrassment when you are starving, and I won't hide it

The other day the dentist and I spent a bit "talking," saying "ehhh, ehhh, ehhhhh," after his question "but why didn't you come sooner?" (for a procedure),

what was I supposed to answer him? If I had to have an implantology procedure, I could "easily" postpone it from now until 2027 (in the meantime, I might even be dead and resurrected).

So far I have known you, Frank, and Maestro Perugini; despite constant commitments, you have always found time to respond or at least make yourself heard,

understanding perfectly well that you are busy; others (and I say this calmly) seemed truly too full of themselves to me, and this only made me distance myself.

Today I read part of a singer's curriculum and fled the site; this use of the third person for these things makes them feel "distant" to me, I prefer it in the first person,

I know it seems less professional, but it affects me, and it has a strange effect on me; I'll tell you in person when we meet.

I was thinking of trying falsetto, if "I can," I'll put my voice into it, imitating Scholl for a day, and that would truly be the end of my last "logical remnant."
