What disconcerts me even more than the blunders (Bach's Great Fugue? Chopin's quartets?) is the improbable Italian in which this article is written. Eugenio Scalfari's musical incompetence does not surprise me all that much, being rather widespread among intellectuals; what surprises me instead is that he writes so poorly...

Scalfari.. if he had spent 100 euros on a ghostwriter who understood something about the subject, he would have saved himself an embarrassment.
