If one must (rightly) remove David... what can be said of Mozart ....

Not only did they use the David to advertise a war rifle, but they also covered his private parts with a leaf (and I don't think many people noticed): warmongers, yes, but always puritanical too.

Michelangelo's David is an Italian work so famous that, abroad, it is identified with Italy (Italia + arma = mafia); it is like that famous Der Spiegel cover, the plate of spaghetti with the gun. I wouldn't make the comparison with Mozart.
