Art. 1 The SilVer Cultural Association, with the Patronage of the Municipality of Vinci, announces the Second Edition of the National Musical Performance Contest “Leonardo da Vinci National Prize - SilVer 2015”: the event aims to deepen musical knowledge and promote the most deserving young talents.
Art. 2 The Contest is open to Italian and foreign musicians residing in Italy with a residence permit or attending an Italian public or private Institute. Auditions will take place from JANUARY 23 to 25, 2015.
Art. 3 The Commission, whose judgment is final and unappealable, will express a judgment with a score from 1 to 100 and may reserve the right not to award those prizes for which an adequate artistic level is not achieved. Jurors who currently have or have had teaching relationships within the two years preceding the start date of the Contest with one or more contestants shall abstain from participating in the evaluation and voting of said contestants. The Commission will be composed of eminent personalities from the musical landscape, artists of international renown, and distinguished teachers.
Art. 4 All contestants must present themselves on the day and at the time established and will be heard in alphabetical order; latecomers, at the unappealable judgment of the Commission, will be heard at the end of the other contestants and in any case within the schedule provided by their summons. The Artistic Directors remain available in any case to personally provide information regarding the auditions. At the time of performance, contestants must present an identity document and a photocopy of the scheduled pieces. Transcriptions and simplifications are not permitted except for the category reserved for Music Schools.
Art. 5 Each contestant may participate in multiple sections and may register for categories higher than their own. For the Chamber Music section, membership will be determined for each group by the average age of all members, using the last two digits of the year of birth as a calculation base. Registrants are invited to indicate the name of the teacher in the participation application. Memorized performance is not mandatory.
Art. 6 The organization provides only the piano and some music stands for candidates who may have a need for them. All pianist contestants will be granted the possibility to try the instrument. For the Lyric Singing section and for the String Instruments and Wind Instruments sections, the organization provides, upon request, an accompanying pianist; in this case, it is necessary to pay a supplement of 25 euros (twenty-five/00) and send a copy of the piece for the pianist to the Association's address together with the registration form.
Art. 7 At the end of each category, results will be announced and prizes and diplomas will be delivered; scores lower than 75/100 will be communicated personally only upon request of the interested parties present at the reading of the results. Diplomas and related prizes will not be sent in any case. To teachers who request it, a certificate containing the scores and rankings of the students will be delivered. To collaborating pianists, a certificate of participation will be delivered upon request.
Art. 8 At the end of the Contest, a concert is scheduled for Sunday, JANUARY 25, within the framework of the SilVer 2014/2015 Concert Season. On this occasion, the absolute winners of all sections and categories will perform, under penalty of losing the prize achieved. The performers will collect the prizes achieved during the award ceremony concert. During the award evening and the concert of all winners, the Audience Prize will be awarded: Certificate and Honor Plaque.
Art. 9 The Artistic Direction reserves the right to make changes to this call for entries and to suppress one or more sections if necessary; in such a case, registrants will be promptly notified and their paid fee will be returned. The indicated dates may undergo changes based on the number of participants.
Art. 10 The SilVer Cultural Association declines all civil and moral responsibility towards those registered for the Contest. They are personally responsible for their own integrity.
