IMOLA SUMMER PIANO ACADEMY&FESTIVAL
The Imola Piano Academy opens its doors to an International Piano Festival featuring Master Classes, Conferences, and Concerts, in the splendid setting of the Rocca Sforzesca, the Academy's headquarters, from July 18 to 30, 2012.
1. The entire piano faculty of the Academy will teach the Master Classes:
FRANCO SCALA, STEFANO FIUZZI, JIN JU, LEONID MARGARIUS, BORIS PETRUSHANSKY, VOVKA ASHKENAZY, PIERO RATTALINO, RICCARDO RISALITI, ENRICO PACE, ANNA KRAVTCHENKO.
2. Registration for the Master Classes is open, with no age limits and no entrance exam. Registration entitles you to three one-hour lessons each, which will be scheduled by the secretariat according to the teachers' availability. At the time of registration, candidates may indicate the days they are able to be present (for at least 6 days) in case they cannot stay for the entire period.
3. It is possible to request one or two teachers with whom you wish to have lessons. Preferences will be accepted up to the limit of available places in the respective classes.
4. In addition to the piano Master Classes, the Festival offers an Orchestra Conducting course with Maestro Marco Boni. The course is open to all participants for an additional fee of € 80 (see registration and costs section).
5. During the Festival, it will be possible to participate in the entrance exams for the Academy for the year 2012-2013. The exam will be held on July 23: all information regarding this will be communicated by the Secretariat. 6. In addition to the Master Classes, a schedule of concerts will enliven the Festival:

Afternoon concerts
: these will be held every day and will feature participants of the Master Classes, subject to the teacher's consent and curriculum verification.

Evening concerts
: these will be held according to a schedule to be determined and will feature teachers and artists associated with the Academy.
7. The last three days of the Festival will also be dedicated to the "Imola per la Musica" Prize: those who wish may participate in a selection in which the winner will be entitled to a refund of the Master Class registration fee. For details, go to the "Imola per la Musica" Prize.
8. At the end of the Master Class, teachers will nominate students worthy of being admitted to the Academy. In such cases, the Master Class may replace the entrance exam for the 2012-2013 academic year.
9. By June 15, the appropriate registration form must be sent along with a copy of an identity document and a curriculum vitae. (Download the registration form)
From Monday, June 25, the secretariat will contact candidates to define certain details (requested teachers and lesson days). Should mutual needs be met, the candidate will be officially admitted to the Master Class and must proceed with the payment of the registration fee. For payment methods, follow the instructions contained in the registration form.
10. During attendance at the Master Class, the candidate shall pay the attendance fee according to the methods communicated by the secretariat. It will not be possible to attend the last of the three scheduled lessons without having settled the attendance fee.
11. Lessons will be held in the classrooms of the Piano Academy, all equipped with two grand pianos, one for the student and one for the teacher.
Upright pianos will be made available for study. The pianos will be shared with other students according to a schedule communicated by the secretariat. One study piano is provided for approximately every 3 students.
12. A list of partner hotels and restaurants will be provided by the secretariat and indicated on the website. The average cost calculated for full board accommodation in Imola during the Festival is approximately € 50 per day in 4-star hotels.
