Dear friends, for two years I have carried out this project with great passion, dealing with the little time I had available and my financial constraints in an attempt to create a place that resembled a large family more than a classical music forum. With great regret, I realize that I have not succeeded in my intention, and I will try to provide my reasons as transparently as I can.
What I observe is a community that most of the time gives me so much to do, too much, because it does not limit itself to keeping me busy with maintenance but with solving problems determined by other factors. People who argue, who fight, who threaten lawsuits, trolls, spammers, and so on.
I have reached the point where I truly cannot bear this continuous pressure anymore, and despite having promised myself not to log in anymore in order to let things settle peacefully by avoiding responding to any argument, it was nonetheless useless because, inevitably, among 2000 brains, there are always those who clash. I have already sent an email to Paolo in which I ask him if he wants to take the reins of the forum; should he feel unable to do so for any reason, I would like to leave this site to someone who would take care of it, because honestly, I would be very sorry to throw 2 years of work into the trash.
Among the names I would like to take the reins are Frank, Sisifo, Armando, Thallo, and Piccinesco because, among everyone, they are those who have shown me affection and helped me steer the ship, even in a technical sense, all this time. I trust in you very much.
As far as the reason for my withdrawal is concerned, it seems very simple to me: I spent money to advertise the platform and keep it online, always offering a service free of any advertising, punctual, functional (there have never been prolonged service interruptions, at most 2 hours, even at the cost of staying up all night to resolve the problem by dawn), I was always available for everyone... What have I received in return? Always insults, threats, cease and desist letters on behalf of third parties.
It is time to end it, and so exhausted, I leave the place to those who have more passion, desire, or simply a different character than mine. Perhaps the problem might be me.
Consider that, beyond everything, taking over a forum that is already beautiful and populated is always a good investment, provided that it is taken to carry forward the same intentions for which it was created.
With great bitterness, I say goodbye to you all and thank you for the beautiful months spent together.
Ad maiora, one hopes...
