I am transcribing a jazz standard with a 2011 ending, specifically when reporting the harmonies, I am using the TEXT TOOL. I should write the chord: "Ab7(b5)" but I cannot find the characters "b", "(" and ")". Could someone give me some indications?

thanks and have a good evening

mac... among other things, I recently installed the new operating system.

could it be because of this? the last time I opened Finale, I had the previous one;

a short while ago I started it for the first time with the new one and before opening it in a window, it asked me
to install a java routine (which I did). But... anyway, in the meantime I figured out how to use
the chord tool, so thanks anyway! ;-D

In fact, Scalaquaranta is the best way; the limitation of the text tool is that it remains fixed on the page and does not follow the life of the score. If you were to mark a chord under a note with the text tool and then, as a result of modifications, added or removed notes or changed the measure layout... you would have to manually move all the symbols

Instead, this way the text is associated with the note; another way is to use the expression menu (the icon with "mf"), you can take an unrelated entry from "actions" like "divisi", duplicate it and modify it by writing exactly the chord symbol you are interested in. Certainly, the symbol will then follow the measure layout and you won't have to deal with all the changes every single time
