i am transcribing a rock music piece for my students, which is quite elaborate in terms of counterpoint.
i am writing it on a single staff but, at a certain point, for just one phrase (i.e., 4 measures, arranged on a single line of the page), I have the need to have a double piano staff, where I can write the 4 melodic parts that, at that point (and only at that point) overlap.
in reality, I already have an idea of how to do it: set up the entire project for piano (so with a double staff from the beginning) and delete those that I do not use.
but if there were a quicker and more efficient way, I would prefer that... also because the score is almost finished. only these fateful 4 measures are missing! ?
thanks

Of course, but based on what has already been done, you just need to add a new staff and hide all the measures except for those 4.
You could also write them separately, crop them as an image, and then insert them as a graphic element... but the result will be disappointing

To add a staff: window, score manager, instrument list, add instrument
To hide useless measures of the added staff: key-shaped icon (musical staff menu), select the measures with the mouse, right-click on the previously selected area, force hidden staff: close empty space
