Very interesting. Only one thing is not clear to me. Is it necessary to send an even "approximate" mp3 of the soundtrack, which will then be performed live? Or is it necessary to send the video with the soundtrack, creating a quality audio using appropriate computer tools? Or...?

It seems they have both specified the accepted formats for delivery: both the track in audio format, and the video already defined with the audio part.

I don't think it will be performed live, otherwise they would have given indications regarding the available instrumentation; they will simply send the video with the music that you provide.

I've rewatched the video 2/3 times and at least for me, it doesn't inspire anything.

Maybe it's because I'm going through a very heavy period, but aside from that, it seems quite banal as a piece of work to me, and the consequence is that I just can't be stimulated by it.

It's true that if it were for work, one should still find a way to musicalize it, but Christ, it seems too obvious to me.

I can already imagine the usual background pad and some little sounds in the "horror film" style, my goodness.

I had to change my mind, fault of my being impulsive in every context.

Sure, the setting in a cemetery seemed a bit obvious to me, I would have preferred something less direct and more allusive, even metaphorical; however, the meaning of the video is clear (at least as I interpreted it) and between last night and today I completed the soundtrack, I didn't imagine I would do it so quickly, so I will definitely participate.

If we talk about this video...

Filming and color correction barely sufficient

Post-production and editing sufficient

Sound design severely insufficient: barely two sounds used throughout the entire production. A loop of birds (I don't know if you noticed it's a loop, I did after just 20 seconds) and a sound of breaking wood that is supposed to simulate a neck snapping.

Yes, that's the video, but trying costs nothing.

A the location seemed obvious to me in reference to the proposed theme, and I reiterate it.

I had to change my mind about the fact that there is a meaning, albeit barely hinted at and dependent on how one interprets it (rather than Halloween, I see the Day of the Dead, and that's no joke).

Last night I quickly found a part that in my opinion could fit perfectly and I completed it, but I wasn't fully stimulated; I focused on the synchronization (without being overly meticulous) between music and images by adding two effects, but I thought about adding other noises such as the movement of leaves, footsteps on the ground, but that is not "my job" in this case.

Paradoxically, watching it with the music (at least for me), it flows very well, and I think this is the most important aspect for the viewer; obviously there can also be negative criticisms regarding aspects related to what you mentioned, but the authors must answer for them (if it had been up to me, provided I was capable, I would have focused on the metaphor); I am counting on the fact that at least 90% of the soundtrack will be appreciated.

There is also another competition of this type; it seems to take place every May and the honorary president is Morricone; in that case, you have to register by paying a fee, subsequently receive a video cassette with an excerpt from a film and score the whole thing; it would be worth trying.
