It would be interesting to have a video tutorial showing the tuning of various pianos, also based on requests from pianists.

Voicing is generally a professional secret for those who practice this profession. Everyone has their own methods and the number of hammer strikes, soakings, that they give to the hammers depending on what needs to be done and the compression of the felt itself. I was also very curious and did some research. There is a book that was created as both educational material for pianists and a guide for technicians, dedicated to voicing. The book is by Andrèe Oorebek, "The Voicing of the Piano." You can find it in several languages except Italian (it hasn't been translated), and it costs quite a bit. It provides guidelines on how to act on the hammers and why, but it is of practical use for those who have already worked in this field. There is also a DVD where he shows how he does it. But learning like that is almost impossible; one would have to spend a fortune on hammers and make many attempts before arriving at one's own personal "recipe" and a deep understanding of the subject. It provides a good foundation, taught me many things, but sincerely, I haven't been able to apply them, not being a technician. ?
