Hello everyone, my name is Giorgio, and my musical subject, if one can call it that, is choral singing; in particular, what I have been practicing for over thirty years as a member of a male equal-voice choir, the Coro Cesare Rinaldo di Coggiola, in the province of Biella, founded back in 1954, and thus one of the longest-running in the area. Despite our long history, we always have the drive to seek new pieces for our repertoire, which, although mainly oriented towards mountain singing, does not shy away from tackling different genres.
My goal is to try to obtain advice on some scores that we have in progress, transcribed for our voices by myself and other friends from the choir.
I trust that among the users there is someone who can help me, as I am only an amateur with limited experience.
I know music, but in the specific field of musical transposition, I am merely a self-taught person, albeit a willing one...
Therefore, I will gladly accept any contribution from anyone among you who can and wants to give it to me, as well as any eventual corrections and/or criticisms, should they be necessary. The important thing for me is to improve myself musically, so it is with the utmost humility that I ask all of you to accept me into your assembly, hoping to in turn make a contribution within the limits of my abilities. some new discussions on choral singing would be wonderful I am not at all an expert in "mountain" repertoire, even though I have many Alpine friends (including a very good professional choir conductor up in Ossola). And so I really hope it will be an exchange of knowledge, in short, you will be the one correcting us

it's not that writing for male voices is a great difficulty, there are rather simple patterns, TTBB (tenor, tenor 2, baritone, bass) to respect, but the difficulty lies in making the fusion of the parts result as harmonious and satisfying for both the audience and the performers; in fact, the middle voices (2nd tenor and baritone) often have, due to the requirements of respecting harmony, somewhat monotonous parts, and that is precisely why I would need the help of someone more experienced than me in this field. to give you an idea of what I mean, I refer you to a short piece that I published on my FB page: www.facebook.com/giorgio.rovarin.9 under the title "ninna nanna triste". I elaborated it starting from a very old song that we used to sing by ear, inventing the parts time after time. listen to it, it certainly won't be much musically, but it will serve to better explain what I mean to say.
