Hello everyone,
I have become passionate about studying the piano not long ago, even though I am no longer very young. I was given an old piano, I believe from the thirties, and I would like to restore it as best as possible following the advice of this forum, which I believe is unique on the web. Compliments on the technical explanations and video tutorials.

Greetings to all the forum regulars.
As mentioned in my introduction, I have a 1930s Zimmerman upright piano that I would like to restore. The instrument is not in bad shape, but many years have passed while it was inactive. Removing the keys and cleaning the structure underneath, I saw that the paper washers in the central part are worn out or rather "crumbled." Therefore, I need to restore the central washers and level the keyboard. Is there a starting method for doing this work? That is, can one start from any point on the keyboard? Does the thickness of the first washer have a standard measurement, or is it at the technician's discretion?
