My name is Marco Viti, I have played tenor and baritone sax since the age of 14 (I am now 56); I also started playing the piano at the same time, which I then left after about two years; I picked it up again about 5 years ago, I must say with poor results, I am followed by a good certified teacher, but I still find much difficulty with hand independence, I cannot manage to get rid of my rigidity (in fact, for me, playing is a significant effort).
I must say that your videos on technique have been very exhaustive and very precious to me, they had never been explained to me as I saw them in your videos; unfortunately, teaching is still based on the concept of trying and retrying, "that in the end, somehow, you will find the way".
Practically, they have always spoken to me about the technique of weight and relaxation as very vague concepts; if I understood them, I understood them through your video tutorials. Now I have a hard job ahead of me: that of getting used to correcting all the "bad habits" acquired and never corrected, which is much more difficult.
I will certainly ask you for many tips.
Regards, Marco Viti

Welcome Marco, in this piano and music portal, you will surely find many answers and many news items.
Thank you for the compliments and Welcome, Marco. Naturally, as I always say in the videos, the Tutorial does not replace a lesson from a good Teacher. It only suggests a way, a path, and stimulates experimentation. I believe it is important to insist on a few basic convictions and then develop the discussion in the field. Teaching is a difficult thing, because one must, with the utmost attention, identify what the student must not do, while trying to develop and preciously preserve those natural and correct initiatives that he proposes.
