I am, perhaps, the least young of the newly formed group of members.
I am enjoying retirement after an interesting working life that went from building formal algebraic models of computers to implementing, designing, and then directing information systems. Physics and mathematics have been the great passions of my life and, for the sole purpose of honoring the kabbalah, it was necessary to illuminate life with a third great lighthouse: music.
I have cultivated this latter passion, along with my brothers, since I was about twenty years old, playing guitar in a band for a while and, in middle age, the classical guitar. Having reached almost sixty, I decided to take up the piano, initially out of curiosity, then out of passion; even today I dedicate a few hours a day to the piano, due to the entirely peculiar and unique characteristics it presents in the musical landscape. I play almost exclusively so-called "classical" music, having had to make certain choices given the age at which I started. But, as you all know, the musical world is vast, so let's swim! I really like "rummaging" through spaces that are not very frequented, in search of hidden gems; and some can be found, without even great effort! I also enjoy "reading" music, partly because each of us has our own limits regarding what we can "perform" with the instrument. On the other hand, music is not just an activity that produces "acoustic" effects, but above all a cultural and mental activity. The results of this way of "making" music are, besides great freedom, the knowledge of many authors and many scores and the memory of what risks being lost. Ultimately, with the piano I study (as I have always done), I have fun (this too, always done) and age well (here I am even improving!).
