There is no doubt that I am an Apple product enthusiast. I have practically everything: Mac, iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad Air.
Apple is without a doubt a very serious company, especially regarding the warranty. What other company replaces your phone with a new one in case of device failure? Answer: none!!
The products are certainly qualitatively superior to others on the market; this is a fact, you can feel it even just holding them in your hands. Laptops are made with fine aluminum shells, cell phones with tempered glass. When you hold an iPhone after holding any other phone, you immediately feel the difference.
When I saw the preview of the iPhone 6, I said to myself... Wow, they've outdone themselves here. They finally returned to curves like in the case of the iPhone 3, but in a much more elegant way, keeping the aluminum case and glass with smoothed edges.
2 models available: a normal one and a Plus model with a FullHD display.
Having the need for a phone with a large screen since I always have to connect to the forum, send emails, and browse web pages, I was almost convinced of a future purchase as my Vodafone contract was about to expire: on that occasion, I would have taken a nice new phone while continuing the contract. I practically live with my phone, and instead of spending 50 euros on top-ups per month, I prefer to spend 30 and also have a new phone. Enthusiasm was at 1000 until the first reviews, including a "bend test," started appearing online. I was devastated...
Is it possible they always have to do some kind of bull***t?
The iPhone 4 had the antenna problem... If you use it with slightly sweaty hands, the signal drops (Tried 100 times, I had to hold the phone with my fingertips).
iPhone 5s: TouchID issues that were insecure, resolved only after several updates, and now, a phone that if you have in your pocket and you sit down, it bends! (I'm talking about the Plus model).
You make a 1000 euro phone and it bends in your pocket?
It would take so little to test these things during the design phase! Create some prototype products, send them as a preview to those guys who make videos on YouTube, and if there is any problem they tell you immediately; you fix it and then put it on the market.
I don't know how this will end. If Apple doesn't change the already sold bent phones, I think sales for future occasions will plummet. A company like this cannot have its reputation massacred because of a design oversight like this...
I will probably purchase if they solve the problem; otherwise, as far as I'm concerned, they can keep the phone in the store and I hope other buyers do the same. Fashion or no fashion, there is no such thing as spending on a phone you cannot keep in your pocket.
Something similar happened to me with the Samsung S4. It had already gone for repair several times; for the record, they kept it at the service center more than I did. The last time I picked it up from service, two days later I put a pair of jeans on, put it in my pocket, and when I took it out, the screen was destroyed due to "torsion" problems. I went to the service center and explained that it is not normal for liquid crystals to be destroyed just by keeping a phone in your pocket; it's a design problem with the phone. As far as I know, people all over the world put their cell phones in their pockets—at least men; perhaps women use a handbag. They brushed me off, telling me that the damage was not covered by the warranty. Very elegantly, I told them that I would repair it myself by buying the replacement part on eBay and that they would never see me again since I would never buy another Samsung phone.
I believe a company should hold onto its customers, especially in a difficult moment like this. You cannot start questioning when you know perfectly well that the failure was due to poor phone design. In short, I had it in my pocket, it's not like I drove over it with a car; externally it didn't have a scratch, the touch glass was completely intact, only the display underneath was cracked.
In short, they want good money but give back products that aren't worth that money. Companies like this close down, and then they shouldn't complain!
