hello everyone, I am starting a new thread for a topic that has already appeared in another one, but which perhaps deserves its own... at Giovanni's request, but also out of personal interest [I am always interested in understanding why, as in this case, a piece manages to reach a vast listener base], I have started the transcription of this improvised "encore" (though you never know how far it might go) by Keith Jarrett in his Tokyo concert. I have reached more or less the halfway point, and there will certainly be inaccuracies, but for now I am offering it as it is, also because it is too hot to stay at the computer for long (I use software for the transcription work)... some problems are insurmountable, such as establishing the rhythmic division of many of the phrases that KJ plays by delaying and accelerating. I have tried to provide an interpretation based on common sense... here is the file:
