It might seem that political interests are above everything....
... but reading Lisitsa's tweets, there weren't just criticisms of the government. I perceived gratuitous racism, antisemitism, and in general, the tone was not appropriate at all. In my opinion, an orchestra can reserve the right to protect its own image, exactly like any other company.

For me, they did the right thing; in Canada, they took this position more for political convenience than out of a true sense and respect for human rights.
A position taken by a state that is famous for its annual massacre, and I won't say which one, so talking about incitement to racial hatred or things like that is misplaced; they are the first to perpetrate violence in the name of profit.

Besides, she did not incite any racial hatred; only certain comments were targeted, which, when taken together out of context, may seem offensive.. But it's always the same story, a word means nothing if you don't know what was said before and after; f*** you said in a friendly tone can even draw a laugh, but the same word said with another tone results in being very offensive. It's the same story that happened to Lisitsa, her tweet was anything but racial, in my opinion..
PS: And with a pinch of empathy, anyone would be angry with their own country if it behaved like Ukraine (Europe is also to blame, let's not put all the blame on Ukraine and Russia)

Music is asemantic. And many would want the musician to be "asemantic" as well.
Bravo to Lisiszta who does not give up on criticizing, observing, thinking, and speaking.
this thing about cancelled concerts is very unpleasant and deplorable.
I think it is "only" a matter of Canada-Ukraine political conveniences, as Piccinesco has already observed.
Something similar happened to the young Pollini when he tried to express his own opinion regarding current events before sitting at the piano. There, it was the audience in the hall that reacted with impatience.
