I noticed that Liszt's works are numbered with S ... what does that stand for?

I will also take the opportunity to ask, which symphonic poem do you think is most worth "digging into"?

S stands for... Searle (Humphrey Searle) is the name of the person who cataloged Liszt's works

I imagined, a bit like KV for Mozart...

A questo punto sarà lo stesso per Bach BWV, giusto?

No, for Bach it does not refer to the cataloger. BWV stands for Bach Werke Verzeichnis which means "Bach Works Catalogue". The author of the catalogue is Wolfgang Schmieder.

By analogy for Buxtehude, BuWV would stand for "Buxtehude Werke Verzeichnis"; it's a pity I don't know who the author of the catalogue is
