Logic 9 Usage Tips

1) Everything is done via Key Command; even the defaults are reset from there, you must decide which keys are most convenient for you.

2) Loops in wave format do not contain tempo information, so they cannot be pre-adapted to the tempo; files that contain tempo information are AIFFs. Flex time is often used on wave files which, lacking tempo information, must be adapted to the required tempo (within certain limits). What I mean by this is that it is unthinkable to adapt a loop at 235 bpm to play at 40 with flextime. Flextime is an excellent algorithm, but we are always working on a wave. Excessive slowing down ruins the timbre of the loop.

3) Your question is not very clear to me. If by grid you mean the arrange window, i.e., the area where the audio regions are contained. You can expand a single track by positioning your mouse at the bottom of the track. A finger icon will appear instead of the pointer. By holding it down, you move up to shrink and down to expand. Alternatively, to enlarge all tracks, you have two zoomers in the bottom left of the arrange window, one vertical and one horizontal.

1) Wave loops cannot be automatically adapted unless you transform them into Apple Loops using a tool called Apple Loops Utility; otherwise, there is no way, precisely because as I was telling you, Wave files do not contain tempo information.

1) there isn't even a function to time-align the loop once loaded into the project. this function interests me because with Ableton Live all loops are time-aligned without problems (even very long files) and I was doing very well with it

2) regarding the grid, I meant the subdivision of the horizontal lines. I would like them to be even narrower between one value and the next. the function you described is used to set the type of display for the grid measurement units...

In Logic Pro -> Preferences -> Key Commands

Click on the triangle to view the commands associated with a type and select the command you are interested in

Press and hold the button you want to associate with an 'action'

Click on the Learn New Assignment button

The new command button should appear in the assignment field.
