Hello everyone. I am new to this forum. My name is Enrico and I am a pianist/composer. For my home recording activity, I mainly use the Korg Oasys 88 and recently Logic Pro 9 (with a Digidesign 003 rack audio interface). I need to understand how to synchronize the two machines to record audio tracks in Logic. To explain further: I recorded a piece in the MIDI-audio sequencer of the Oasys; however, I now want to record every single track of this piece onto individual audio tracks of a Logic project so that I can perform more refined editing and mixing. Therefore, I would need to properly synchronize the two sequencers (Oasys and Logic) to be able to record the tracks in time.
I should also mention that my pieces often change tempo and speed: will it be necessary to create a sync track in Logic to maintain this tempo information within the project?
Great keyboard and a great sound card, one of those that never gives problems in a Mac environment. Let's get to the point. Certainly, you can perform the sync; you just need to assign the destination in
Logic.
To transmit MIDI time code you must
go to the Logic Pro menu, then preferences and Midi. Select the sync tab
and at the bottom right click on the MIDI sync project button. Click the destination 1 checkbox and select the destination. At the bottom in MIDI time code (MTC) select All. In any case, I don't understand why you don't use Logic from the start to compose, but instead record first on the Oasys and then bring everything into Logic. A nice USB MIDI interface and sounds and edits directly in Logic.

As you rightly point out, it would be better to start composing directly in Logic, but I am still getting familiar with the program (I haven't used it for a long time). Furthermore, I had to resort to synchronization because many tracks produced more or less completely in the last year had been started with Oasys and now I found myself having to finalize them (and to do an accurate job, I wanted to manage them with Logic).
Anyway, from September I will start taking a real course on Logic here in my area and I am sure that the program can give me a lot of satisfaction in terms of results.

Sorry for the slight delay in responding, Enrico; in any case, I don't know if you saw in the video tutorial section on the site's home page that we also do Logic video courses. We have reached lesson 8, if I am not mistaken. The lessons will continue starting from the month of October.
