I realized that I have neglected this performer who, from what I understand, does not enjoy great public esteem or has at least never been compared to the greats

And yet, listening to this video, it seems to me that he has technique, class, and balance to spare

what do you think? How do you explain that this musician has always remained stuck in this limbo of lukewarm consideration? There is also relatively little on YouTube regarding him.

I remember listening to him around my area in the very early 80s.

My teacher used to extol his technique and composure.

It seems to me that he is nonetheless considered quite well by industry experts, and he has certainly made a significant impact.

Some time ago, he participated as a guest on Corrado Augias's program "Le storie," where he presented his book on Liszt.

Perhaps it was meant as not compared to Pollini, Michelangeli, etc. ... in short, Great with a capital G
