Maestro Lorin Maazel - 1930-2014

Maazel, in an interview at eighty-two years old, said "with experience I have understood what an orchestra musician actually expects from a conductor, two "simplistic" but truly fundamental rules; one: the conductor is there to conduct, not to give speeches and, two: the conductor must have a gesture that anyone can understand! Then there is everything else, of course, but it all starts from there...".

If it is true that many people in the industry have moved to honor the passing of the Maestro... I haven't noticed much movement on the media side. Perhaps I have simply missed something.
