Hi Giulio, do you have the silent piano with MIDI interface?

Very melodic, I like it.

I don't mind it, a bit repetitive but I think it was intentional. I definitely would have held the last note much longer... it arrives after an incessant increase in energy and cannot just stay there for a moment and then go away.

Hello and thank you everyone. The piano is a Yamaha C3 acoustic, the recording is from a reflex and the sound is captured by other microphones to get the best possible quality live, so it may seem out of sync!

Looking closely at the performance, it seems that there is a very slight gap in milliseconds between his key touch and the sound emission; one can sense this a little.

Regarding the recording (I am referring to the acoustics in this case), I noticed that the return of the pedal to its original position is heard a bit too much.

I like it. I also think that perhaps the closing could have been less sudden, more meditative after the driving final sequence. I find some resonances with Surman's "Withholding Pattern" and Tsabropoulos's "Achirana". In short, I seem to perceive some traces of that worldview characteristic of ECM productions, even if less "thoughtfully restless". Compliments, anyway.

I find it the most successful among those presented, perhaps even too schematic compared to the first one which was exactly the opposite... at one point there is a repetition of the same element about ten times... ...however, I must say that apart from that point where you feel like saying "enough!", it is pleasant.

I find a lot of musical sensitivity here, well done!

Regarding this piece, I prefer the part from 1'52" to 2'36", the main theme, which, being repeated so "incessantly," I would have perceived better with

introductions of diversifying elements, even at a rhythmic level.

Pieces with repetitive themes like this one, for example, at least in how I experience them, I would see as more functional with a shorter duration (but it is logical that whoever writes

knows what they intend to convey and the time necessary to do so), this remains a personal opinion.

Personally, I prefer a greater use of agogics, but this is also determined by the type of composition being tackled,

such that in this one, as in other pieces that possess a linear "matrix," especially at a rhythmic level, a clear execution without too many

agogic shifts is logical.

It seems to me that it sounds quite agile (certainly much better than me, who thinks 14 times before using the term "sound"), it is evident

that you pay attention so that the touch is as calibrated and precise as possible, creating uniformity in the whole.

The sound you recorded seems very good to me; you also worked well on the effects (the right amount of reverb), and the tuning and intonation of the piano also seem very good to me... In short, an excellent production. If I had to nitpick, instead of you, I would move the A - B microphones back. This way I would have more natural ambience and use less digital reverb (which is never like natural reverb), and you would solve the problem of damper noise. Also check the polarity since it is a stereo recording with microphones very close together.

All in all, however, in this genre of music, this recording is not bad. Well done!

Which DSLR do you have?

I am drooling over an EOS 600D to make videos. DSLRs make a completely different kind of video. All you need is a light and a DSLR and Hollywood comes out! Next month, God willing, I will proceed with the purchase...

Thanks again for the comments! I saw that many of you highlighted the perhaps excessive repetition of the second theme: as far as I'm concerned, I didn't perceive it as repeating a micro-cell 8 or 10 times, but rather as the repetition of a macro-phrase 3 or 4 times!

As for the microphones, they were handled by a friend of mine who works in sound; I don't understand anything about it at all

I have a Nikon d5000!

Compared to the last one I listened to (for a moment), it seems decidedly much better to me.

It could also be so, but to the ear, the repetition of the micro-cell is perceptible, so perhaps the macro-phrase could have been constructed differently (I mean more varied).

Anyway, from my point of view, this is a good piece.

very beautiful. it seems like watching the images of a film passing by, it could be part of a soundtrack.

I like it very much; I would have played it only in a slightly less "metronomic" way but, apart from that (which is a matter of taste), the piece is very evocative.
