I listened to Messiaen online ...naturally what I found, and I must say it struck me deeply.

I had never listened to anything [of his] before. In his compositions, I saw harmonic groups, but despite being dense and significant, they manage to be agile and accessible without creating listening discomfort.

Here are the pieces.

Cronochromie

Les merles noirs

Catalogue d'Oiseaux

I saw that Frank loves this author very much and it wouldn't be bad to have listening recommendations.

Even better, some files to try (that aren't a hell...to perform, ...naturally)

... let's just say that regarding his way of composing, there are several of his volumes in French to study (I thank his wife, unlike others, for having shared such a treasure).

Here you are lucky enough to come across one, the only one as far as I know, translated into English

Browse through his compositions here, with YouTube playing in your ears

Yes, yes ...I noticed a high interest towards certain aspects of music...

I also learned from Simone that besides that ...you compose...

So the matter interests me very much.

In fact ...very happy to perform something contemporary.

If you have feasible scores (for a level 5 year or so) post something in the sheet music section.

Thanks for the tips.

For the wives....I forgot...many truly believe their husbands who, as Matisse used to say...seem to want to build tables with their legs in the air...

That's life...
