Good evening everyone.
I own a Farfisa model 105 acoustic piano that has a metallic sound. A technician came and tuned the piano. Now it sounds significantly better, but the problem of the metallic sound remains. He advised me to dampen the hammers with fabric softener and let them dry for a few days. What do you think of this procedure? Personally, I don't like the idea of wetting the hammers very much. I had thought about puncturing the hammers 3 mm below the striking point. Should I puncture with a sewing needle? And how many mm should the needle go in? Also, should I puncture only some hammers or all of them? Thank you very much
