A S. Cecilia there is neither a Superintendent nor an Artistic Director; the President holds both positions; it is the only Opera House in which the choice is made by the Academics and not "politically". Michele Dall'Ongaro has been elected President. Some presidents have then delegated the Artistic Direction (at a consultancy level, the separate figure of Artistic Director is not provided for) to others, having the power to do so. Therefore, the title of the newspaper in the post is improper.
Bruno Cagli held both positions which are formally separate, as can also be seen from the emoluments he received (⬠200,000 as president + ⬠100,000 as artistic director).
I believe that Dall'Ongaro, given his skills, will continue on the same path.
