Hi, I'm new here; given the massive presence of composers (I have even read about graduates, therefore qualified and called upon to express themselves in their modernity), I will take the opportunity to ask (and I wonder) which music most represents the time in which we live.
What type of music, group, or artist manages to truly define itself as modern today, in a scenario where music does nothing more than reuse modules, riffs, melodies, rhythmic constructions, sounds, etc., already used in the past in classical music, rock, jazz.
It seems wretched to me that in recent decades more musical genres have been born than in the entire history of music.
Small and brief genres that are nothing more than a mishmash of many musical categories (one only needs to pick up a music magazine to realize this).
It seems to me that there is no real search for the modern in music, and that people limit themselves to revisiting rather than inventing.
What do you think? Who is the musician who can be defined as truly original and therefore also modern? Enlighten me... please
