I don't love rankings; I was reflecting on the Bachtrack one reported in the attached article. In extreme summary, the three most performed living composers in the world today write practically "tonal" music (Pärt has been number 1 for six years). Aside from Kurtág (which is all classical-sounding anyway), the others don't seem that extreme to me either, quite the opposite.
I would say there is a second spring for tonality.
