Mozart considered the Piano Quintet with Winds KV452 one of the best works composed in his entire life, and I believe he was absolutely right. Its perfection is comparable to that of the Trio for violin, viola and cello KV563.
Mozart - Quintet for Piano and Winds in E flat, K. 452
It would be interesting to know who the performers are. But I fear this is extremely difficult to find out. I have listened to several versions, but none as balanced in the parts as this one.
It's incredible how in such an enchanting piece one can almost feel irritated because some performers (who would probably stand out magnificently on any other piece) even seem out of tune. I am beginning to understand why it is so difficult to interpret such a "simple" composer.
