regarding the second one, anyway, it is just the abstract, i.e., a little summary.

In general, these studies confirm obvious things but fail to trace any kind of system. And, what's worse, they do not pose ANY of the pressing questions that current musicology proposes. It's the problem with USA-made music psychology...

I feel like echoing Thallo's response, and saying that physiologically music does not exist.

Musical works, however, do exist. And you can find everything: in some there is more brain, in some more heart, in some neither one nor the other.

If I'm not mistaken, in one of the volumes of Il Sole 24 Ore there is an entire chapter dedicated to "music and the brain"

no, you did not understand the meaning of the quotation marks. But following the sense of your link, the cardiac muscle has nothing to do with music

I too, in one of my interventions, used the words heart and brain but this was done with full awareness of using a field that may be very dear to us but is not true.

I can only share Daniele's message, adding one thing: the metaphorical use of the word "heart" can be misleading, especially when opposed to the word "brain". Okay, it is a common, ancient, very "successful" antithesis. But it does not speak of reality, and we are saying this here, and it forces us too often to divide the world into black and white, beautiful and ugly, good and bad, something that hardly helps us understand anything.

A bit dated but "explains" the brains of conductors

To all those who reproach me or have reproached me for never making decisions with the heart, I have always turned to this motto of mine:

"The heart serves 'only' to pump blood to the brain!"
