Did anyone see the Nabucco the other day on Rai5 (the one with Nucci)?
What can be reproached to the soprano who played Abigaille? I liked her very much, but I would also like to understand the reasons of those who criticize her...

I am reading Luca Chierici's review on http://www.ilcorrieremusicale.it/2013/02/04/nabucco-alla-scala/:
"But of strong impact in every respect was certainly Liudmyla Monastyrska's Abigaille, who received the most convincing applause from the audience. A dramatic lyric soprano of exceptional depth, the Ukrainian singer possesses such a volume of sound in the medium-high register that it makes an analogous achievement in the low register impossible (and everyone knows how the formidable range of her part in Nabucco would require greater homogeneity of emission in this regard). An inequality that in any case does not detract from her extraordinary performance."
Other reviews on http://www.operaclick.it/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=17961&p=595512: most of the reviews are positive; one writes that the singer seems "monotonous" to him, others that the singer has a stage personality that is "not disruptive" and "not overwhelming."
