Hi everyone, I hope the question isn't too stupid but this doubt arises as the time to purchase a Yamaha C5 grand piano approaches ... in your opinion, is it always better to turn to a new instrument or are there used instruments (C5 specifically) that can give me as much as a new one (or even better?)

If a piano has always been treated properly, I don't see why one shouldn't opt for a used piano. A piano, just like a car, requires care... Periodic checks, tuning, voicing, replacement of defective parts or those that can deteriorate over time. If a piano has had a good owner, its condition will be impeccable. How to tell? Clearly, buying a piano is not like walking into a bar and picking up a pack of candies. It is a lot of money, so it is always worth spending a hundred euros to give to a good technician and get assistance. Check the mechanics, the soundboard, the state of the strings and hammers, and finally, once all checks have been passed, it will be possible to buy the instrument with peace of mind.

the hardest part is finding a trusted technician ... where can I look for one?
